Hi, folks,

I don't know who initiated this idea, but I do know the idea he/she has made
is so wonderful! I still remember the discussion of the socalled "USTC
Declining" at the beginning of this year. Probably we have just found a
good therapy for that. Do you agree?

This time, I hope we can come up with some actions, rather than pure
discussions.

I support the ideas raised by all those who have expressed on the BB or this
list. Here I would like to be more pratical. Following is my suggestion:

(1) If we can organize the nation-wide USTC alumni association very soon,
the Association can be the appropriate title to do so; But if we can not,
why not just construct a committee as the Board of Trustees elected by those
who donate money to this program, and then the Board can appoint a CEO (or
several people) to handle this issue.

(2) Immediately after the Board is constructed, we can begin the process to
raise funds and negotiate with USTC officials.

(3) This non-profit organization can also provide other services to alumni,
current students, and the university, for instance, to arrange academic
communications between USTC and institutions here, to provide assistance to
USTC students for applying to universities here, etc. We can explore that
afterwards.

Looking forward to a quick action!
