This Communication is to serve the community of overseas USTC
alumni. It is currently edited by the USTC Alumni Association in
Chicago Area. We hope that it will evolve to become the official
electronic magazine for the future nationwide USTC Alumni Association.
In this communication, we will bring you the latest news from our
community and our alma mater, alumni association announcement, and
career information.
If you have any news, job information, career move, and even
wedding and child birth that you want to share with other USTC alumni,
please submit your message to the editor via email. The current

2. USTC Alumni Association in Chicago Area Announcement..............

On January 28, 1995, we had a very successful party for USTC alumni
in Chicago area. More than 60 alumni ranging from the most senior (58)
to the recent graduates (89) attended the party. The following people
will temporarily assume leadership roles in our association. A formal
election is being planed.

The preparation of University of Science and Technology of China(USTC)
Alumni Association (Pacific Region) is in progress. The first meeting
is scheduled tentatively at the end of March, 1995 in the tournament
park of CalTech. Anyone who was at one time a student or a faculty
member, and is interested in joining this association please send your
