Links to Hector Berlioz Pages
The following are a few Web pages dedicated to Hector Berlioz. The comments following the link were just some of my thoughts on the usefulness of these links.
Doug Asselbergs' Page on Hector Berlioz - A pretty comprehensive page on Berlioz. It has a brief biography, discussion on Symphonie Fantastique, list of some of Berlioz's major works, and suggestion of reading resources. It's a useful link.
Matthew Tepper's Page on Hector Berlioz - Has a very extensive discussion on which recording of Berlioz's Requiem to purchase! It also has links to sounds files of Berlioz's music excerpts and, more interestingly, to Mr. Tepper's thesis for his Master's degree on Berlioz's Requiem. This page is extremely useful for someone who wants to find out about Requiem.
Berlioz Page - Naxos Records - This page contains a very simple overiew of Berlioz's orchestral, choral, and opera works. It's not as in depth as either Doug Asselbergs' or Matthew Tepper's page. This is useful only for people who are first exposed to Berlioz. Otherwise, not very useful.
Hector Berlioz Page - Japanese archive - Not useful unless you read Japanese!! This page supposedly contains extensive information on Berlioz. However, it requires a Japanese intepreter program, and, of course, you would need to understand Japanese to read this page!
A brief page on Berlioz (in French) - Very short. Not useful unless you read French.
