Amnesty International: Group 467

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Welcome to Amnesty International Group 467
in West Los Angeles, California

Group 467 is working on behalf of a Prisoner of Conscience in Yemen, a poet under sentence of death. Before this, the group worked for several Prisoners of Conscience from the United Arab Emirates, who had been arrested for performing a play that the government deemed blasphemous, and were subsequently released. The group is also active in the Death Penalty Campaign.

New members are always welcome!
The group usually meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month in Beverly Hills.

Group 467 is one of many local affiliates of Amnesty International USA, which in turn is the United States national section of the worldwide Amnesty International movement. Founded in 1961, AI works impartially for the release of all prisoners of conscience, fair and prompt trials for political prisoners, and an end to torture and executions (for further information, see the brief history and description and the text of the Statute of AI).
