TACIT Bios

Doug Smith

Doug Smith has been taking up space on the TACIT stage since 1988, when he had three nonspeaking roles in Oliver!.  He has parlayed that modest start into assorted Named Characters with Real, Scripted Lines, most notably the Duke of Norfolk in A Man for All Seasons.  (About which a friend said, “They finally found the perfect part for you.  He’s big and dumb, and in the first act he drinks and cusses. . . .”)  His latest appearance was as Richard III ’s Lord Stanley, who has the distinction of being the only major character to live through all five acts.
