Caltech Newman Center
Catholics at the California Institute of Technology
The Caltech Newman Center is an organization for sharing the Catholic faith and supporting the Catholics of the Caltech community. We hold Mass weekly on campus and have other activities such as Bible studies, guest speaker talks, prayer meetings, service projects, fun nights, and cookouts. We have a chaplain who says Mass and is available to hear confessions and for spiritual guidance. The Newman Center is not just for Catholics. Anyone who is interested is more than welcome to join the email list and attend our events.
Welcome!
Welcome to Fr. Michael Shannon, LC, our new Caltech Newman Center Chaplain! Fr. Eugene Gormley, LC, was recently asked to help run a school in Wisconsin. He left after celebrations in his honor and will be greatly missed! In his place, Fr. Michael has come aboard from a parish in Phoenix. Originally from New York, he was recently heard to say (three times): "I WANT TO GO TO THE BEACH!!!"
Come meet Fr. Michael and pick up a free treat/giveaway at the Newman Ctr. table at the Club Fair Saturday, September 27, 2008! We'll be kicking off a season of outings, weekly Masses, and great speakers/talks! More details to come!!!
