Research Facilities

The Historical Society has a rapidly growing research library of local history and genealogical records. Federal census records on microfilm from 1790 through 1920 (the latest available) are on file for Wayne and Pike Counties, PA and Delaware, Greene, Ulster, Sullivan, and most of Orange Counties, NY. Derivation of the counties of the U.S., a national telephone directory, ship immigration records and more are available on CD-ROM at the computer, as well as Internet access on Wednesdays and Fridays. Through Heritage Quest Genealogical Services, we can obtain on loan any available microfilm census, immigration, and many other records. Reference books include those from northeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware, Ulster, Greene, Sullivan, and Orange counties, NY. Local cemetery records, burial permits, obituaries, and family files are added each year.

Self-Guided Tour

Through the courtesy of Wellington Lester, a self-guided tour brochure is available at all times in a box on the front porch of the Museum. The brochure describes in detail many of the interesting historical and architectural features of the village and covers in a general way the newly established Equinunk Historical District. A donation of $1.00 is requested to help defray the cost of publishing the brochure.
