Ordering Bookplates

Diana will provide bookplates upon request. Bookplates are a decorative label that can be pasted into a book to identify its owner. Diana's bookplates are a self adhesive back, and look like that pictured below (if she's still using the same one). She buys them in rolls of a thousand. All you need to do is provide her with a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a note mentioning how many you need and how you'd like them inscribed.

I have nothing to do with the bookplate orders, so other than forwarding an e-mail to Diana regarding an order, I really can't help out in any way. Many of you have asked about international postal rates. I don't have an answer for you, but Antje Wiemers in Germany was kind enough to send me a link to the US Postal Service's website which has all the rules and fees to destinations all over the world. Thank you, Antje.

Monia Schärli was kind enough to tell me about International Reply Coupons for use by Diana's non-American fans. IRC's are used when you send mail to a country other than your own and want to pay for postage. They are redeemable in any country which participates in the Universal Postal Union. You purchase IRC's from your local post office. You may also want to check your country's online postal resources, if available. I understand that you would put your IRCs with your request and your self-addressed (BUT NOT STAMPED) envelope. The person who you send them to can take the IRC's to their local post office, and trade them in for the equivalent amount of non-registered air mail postage. This will allow them the courtesy of providing you a reply. The cost of IRCs vary by country. Thank you, Monia.

When requesting a bookplate please follow these guidelines. It will help Diana and Susan out, and ensures that you get your bookplates as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  • Mail your requests to:

Diana Gabaldon
10828 N. Tatum Blvd., #102-321
Phoenix, AZ 85028

  • Send a self-addressed stamped envelope.
  • US postage for mailing standard size enevelopes is $.41. A standard size envelope is the perfect size envelope for the bookplates.
  • If one of you would care to review the link and information I had from one of Diana's fans to confirm that nothing has changed, I'll be happy to put up any changes you might give me.
