Diamond-formation attack

The diamond-formation has four positions; defender, left and right wings (midfielders), and centre forward. Once the formation is established on the opponents' side of the court, the task of the centre forward is to move around the goal, being prepared to pass from behind the goal, steer shots, and to sweep up shots bouncing off opponents or the goal frame. The more the centre forward can annoy his opponents the better; a penalty shot and/or a team penalty might follow. The midfielders can also move in front of or behind the goal to pass or receive a pass from the centre forward. They can also shoot from close distance, and of course should pass the ball between themselves and the defender. The defender should assist in getting the ball from the left side of the court to the right, and vice versa. He can also step forward to take a shot. There is no worse handicap for a team than a defender who thinks he's some kind of goalie and remains on the own side of the court (maybe even by the own goal!), without helping in the offensive work.
